From the undisclosed camps in Siberia to the strongholds and frontlines of Manchuria and China, soldiers, commanders, and self-exiled Koreans all around cheer and roared upon hearing that Japan had surrendered their control over Korea and that their Fatherland was at last free from the Imperial dominion.
In the Paikdu Mountains, in the Northern-most region of Korea, General Hong Bom Do, a charismatic Korean guerilla leader rallied his troops, many who were ex-Korean army soldiers who vowed to oppose Japan when the Korean army was disbanded, and held up the Japanese Imperial flag as it burned.
"Soldiers and Brothers! At long last, our homeland is freed, and we may return to our country and fellow countrymen!" Hong held up the burning flag as he yelled: "One Korea! A free Korea!"

In the dead of night in the closed taverns and abandoned farms, Nationalists and other members of the Underground movement congregate as they amass hundreds of leaflets to distribute through the Korean populace, the Independence Army, and to the World:
Koreans of the Fatherland! Koreans of the World! Today marks the day of celebration as we have at last been freed from the bondages of the vile treachery of the Japanese and from their Imperial ambitions! The Heavens be upon us and shower us in full glory, as the revolting Nippon's choking grip loosens and now slips from the throats of our children!
But now.. A new face has come to replace where the despicable Emperor Meiji once occupied, as we have come to realize that we are not truly free, but have merely been traded from one Power to the next. The forces known as Sparta have usurped the iron grip of the Japanese with their own iron fist. They have forged the hopes of all Koreans and has obliterated it without second-thought. Rumor travels that they now seek not only to dominate, but fully exploit and turn our rich furtile lands to barren fields and our minds that of Western cultivation and cleansing. Shall we forever exist and be remembered as a People of open subjugation? Shall we stand content as Nations and Empires bicker and lay claim to Korea without adhering to our voice?
Fellow brothers and sisters, fathers and mothers! It is time we stand and break the chains laid by Foreigners! It is time that we collect in one powerful voice in demand of our freedom and that we shall no longer live in content in knowledge that we belong to a Foreign land, that our ancestors and our future shall not go forsakened! Whether in violent acts, peaceful congregation, or justified petition we must make our voice heard! Long live Choson! Live live a free Korea!
