The letter had been sent to several Belgium newspapers, all of whom had published it. Soon enough, every country knew of this proclamation.
---------------
The 20th century. A time of prosperity? Wars impossible? Utopia? I too once felt these silly feelings. It was nineteen hundred and one (1901) and Belgium was in a time of properity. We were set. Machines to prodouce our goods, the idea of war far from any mind. Life was good. Life would always be good.
I was wrong.
Now it is the year of 1915, and Belgium is occupied. The nations of the world, did they help us? Britian, our long lasting ally. Did they come to us in our hour of need? France? The Netherlands? Any nation. The blood of our people spilled as the German war machine rolled accross our peaceful land. What did we do to warrant such attacks? No answer has ever been provided.
So how could such an attrocity go by unnoticed I ask? What has the world come to where we are not good enough to even aknowledge our common man in their time of struggle? Did the nation of Germany even receive a sideglance from any nation?
Now the German war machine rolls towards France, having already swept us up, for no justifiable reason. Will you pick up arms? Will you join the fight for freedom and indepence. If by now you are not persuaded in the least to take up arms, well my friend, there is no hope for the world.
I myself will not tolerate this any longer. We shall fight on for independence, until Germany is willing to recongize us as a nation and grant us the rights any nation deserves, or my heart no longer pumps blood through my viens.
My call goes out to all the people of Belgium as well. Take up arms. Fight the invaders! Fight in the name of the Belgium Liberation Army. Fight for the things that truley matter. Justice and freedom.
I am happy to report that the Belgium Liberation Army can claim responcbility for the death of seven of the pigs.
OCC Fineprint: I use the term "pigs" strictly IC.
