The Kaiser knew that the Zeppelin LZ was kind of easy to spot. But he also knew that it could drop a payload of bombs onto a selected target. He liked the idea, esspecially when the Belgium forces have no real decent air force. Also, the Zeppelins flew high enough to stay out of range of French and British fighters to shoot them down. Another plus on the German side. Although the Zeppelins wern't very effective enough to be used as decent bombers against military forces, it could be used to terrorize the enemy, demoralize them, and sometimes take out the head of command, the government.
As soon as the Kaiser heard about the idea of using Zeppelins as bombers he ordered it into effect. 30 Zeppelins are now flying toward the Belgium capital; Brussels. The Zeppelins will arive there in a couple of days (RP time).

As the blimps slowly, ever so slowly, make their way towards the capital, artillery guns will be used as makeshift anti-air guns. Using a fuse, the rounds will be set to explode later and later, until the right amount of time can be determined to be used against the blimps. Of course, this is mostly a counter-measure against the shells falling down and bombing Belgium.

Even though the zeppelins were easy to see; they were definetly not easy to hit. They were far too high for aircraft to shoot down let alone artillery shells. The commander was curious why they didn't call in for air support, they might have been able to shoot down a couple of blimps with a French plane. But they insted decided to aimlessly shoot into the air with arillery shells that would go far off the projected coarse before they were close to the blimps. Arillery shells missed them by a long shot and most didn't get very high before their fuses exploded or they just failed to explode all together.
The Zeppelins were passing over the city by now, they now lower their alltitude to home in on their targets. They were now vonurable to most French and British fighter airplanes. But they didn't suspect any French or British aircraft to be present at the current time because that's probably what they would have used before they tried their desprate attempt with the artillery shells.
But they knew that it was most likley going to be an easy mission; because it was now too late for the Belgium forces. The 30 Zeppelins, now targeting factories/refineries, and governmental buildings let loose their payloads. It was 2200 hours, the Zeppelins were raiding the Belgium capital at night.

As the Zepplins were kind enough to lower their altidute, .3 inch machine guns. Mobile guns, teams of 9 work the machine guns. They open up upon the Zepplins, which are now in range of the machine gun fire. Of course, all Belgian leaders and factory workers had long seen the incoming Zepplins, though they had been out of reach. Seeing it was a night raid however, not many machine guns could find their targets. Likewise, considering blackout laws were in effect, the Zepplians would be bombing blind into the city.
As of now, Belgium is condeming the German's for attacking primarily civilian targets.
Casualties: 6,790 Civilians 6 Factories Fully Demolished 10 Factories Damaged 102 Military Personel
The recent Zepplin attacks have placed a new emphasis on a fighter program, and should the Germans attempt to reenter with Zepplins, they will have the pleasure of meeting Belgian anti-air and fighters.

Likewise, considering blackout laws were in effect, the Zepplians would be bombing blind into the city. OOC: I have no problem with you doing that, but you can't post that you did it when you're posting losses. It's too late, you'd have to post it before, when you first saw the Zeppelins enter Belgium. It's like saying that submarines appear outside New York City with out posting that they leave their ports some time back. Understand? But I dont see anything wrong with the rest of the post so I'll reply to that. IC: Just a little after the zeppelins lowered their altitude to get a good shot at the city, Belgian machine guns opened fire onto the German Zeppelins. The Zeppelin was a slow, big, expensive vehicle. And they couldn't cover each other with machine guns like the new bombers being developed.
The Zeppelins could be noticed by a blind man in a winter coat they were so hot and noisy. Thus making them easy targets. But they also moved in the cover of darkness, it's only defense against the anti-air being shot at them.
Therefor the Belgian machine guns were opening fire shooting at where they can hear them. But it was almost muffled out when the bombs hit the city.
The first zeppelin caught about 45 blows by a machine gun, erupting the giant ballon into flames. 12 Other Zeppelins suffered the same fate. Burning to the ground in a giant fire ball landing on the mostly civilian city.
The surviving Zeppelins take off into safe altitudes and head back to Germany.OOC: *Edit* ok thanks, that's more realistic, I edited mine acordanly also.*edit*

OCC: I just assumed I couldn't put blackout laws in effect in a certain city until it was deemed they were heading into a city. Whatever, no Black Out for this time. Theres still no way in hell your going to be able to catch up with the goverment officals.
IC: As the blimps approched, the people of Brussles were sound asleep. As the blimps lowered their altitude, the 9 man teams began to fire into the slightly alluminated blimps.
Causalties: 16,790 Civilians 21 Factories Hit 301 Military Personel
OCC: Simply put, there isn't a lot of military in Brussels. There will be once you drive them back, but its still not close enough to the front.
