Hmm Netherlands. Ok I have 100 tanks. BUT- America approved that each factory can make 14 tanks per (RP) week. Thats one RL day. I have 6 factories making tanks. 84 new tanks per RL day. You have been owned. Go away.

Several Spartans (3) are moving through the smoke carring a maxium machinegun. Now that the gas has cleared and there is just a smoke screen and set up their machinegun. Several other's run out and collect supplies from the dead. Suddenly the Three Spartans let lose machinegun fire from their invisable position behind stacked up Bulgerian and horse bodies. It being night time doesn't help much either.

Firing at night is inaccurate and only kills several troops. Russian Maxims return fire.

When they get close to the Spartan lines, the spartans firewith both Machineguns and rifles. The Fiats also open up. Casualties: 2

Running away in the dead of night while you presue on horse back.
It's about 2am. The spartans start to move, the fiats take position on the left and right flanks with the calvary. The Infentry form the center, they march slowly within 800 yards of the russian fortifications before letting go a volley of rifle and machinegun fire in to the night air. The hum of incoming aircraft is heard as they fly over the russians heading towards the russian artillary inplacements. Artillary opens up in a sudden burst and then stops again. This would be hell.
OCC: Italy where the hell are you?

(And horses go a bit faster usually) The Fiats are met by 100 Vez-2's which aim at the flashes of their MG's with their 37mm guns. Russian 76mm light artillery is also used in direct fire mode against the tanks.
The fire from 800 metres does not have much affect at entrenched Russian troops, though grenadiers fire back with semi auto weapons. MG's also take aim at the general positions and spew out hundreds of bullets per minute.
Night-bombing might be able to hit a massive target such as a city, but against artillery it does more in terms of horrifying some local cows than any damage.

Yeah intial Sparta losses: 3,400 and still pushing foard. We came up with a solution for tanks, as the spartans get closer to the tanks they throw gernades at the treads and try to hit them with trench morters that where brought up.

OOC: Smart except Im only engaging your tanks and from hundreds of metres. IC: Realizing the Spartans are actually launching an attack and not a bothersome recon mission, thousands of machine-guns begin raking the advancing lines. Russian 122/152mm artillery tries to hit some troops as well. Regular russian troops with Mosins also begin firing volleys at the advancing Spartans, with are fire by a group being used.
If the Spartans survive the fire and make it close enough to the trenches, they should be gunned down by revolvers at closer ranges.
But for good measure, russian troops are ordered to put on their gas masks and the spartans are gassed. again. OOC: how much troops are advancing?

The Spartan Commander screams, everybody down. The planes fly over the russians and bomb the now very well light up trench lines. There is only about 10,000 Spartans attacking. We are no longer firing artillary blind.
edit: Fire of machineguns and explosions give of light. there is over 200 planes boming you now.
The Spartans go crawling back 600 yards

How, you can't see us. We used your artillary fire and gunfire to light up your trench Effictivly. We doused all of our lights, you are bombing blind!
How many tanks are destroyed?

Artillery fire at ww1 is only effective if done for weeks and mainly for shell shock and such, its quite innacurate. Gunfire wont light up anything except your positions due to muzzle flashes. Oh and the smoke that is caused by the artillery and firefights will effectively reduce your 'illumination' which isnt big at all to start with (5,000 is VERY generous losses)
